A cottage and productive garden
Cherrytree Cottage is on a sloping block which has been terraced. It has sweeping views across the town and surrounding countryside. There are established front, side and back gardens with roses, camellias and a wide variety of cottage plants. The back garden underwent a major renovation in 2015-16 and as well as vegetable gardens there are rose gardens, many varieties of salvias, weigela and hibiscus. These plantings are intermingled with fruit trees including 7 cherry trees, figs, quince, oranges, mandarins, peaches, pears, nectarines, apricots, plums, persimmon, lemon, lime, hazelnut and almond trees. There are approximately 310 roses in the front, back and side gardens.
