166   Lakeside

Open Saturday 4th-Sunday 5th May

Exploration of this garden, along meandering paths, takes you through extensive beds of roses, impressive mollis azaleas, rhododendrons, brunsfelia, salvias and much more. Since 2017 we have added extensive gardens, an aloe and cacti garden, also an hydrangea with some very unusual hydrangeas. A new Bromeliad garden has some rare specimens a new rose bed was made for roses rescued from Manjimup Hospital and various people in Manjimup. There is an abundance of fruit and deciduous trees, including burgundy birches, 20 species of Maples and Dogwoods. Many of the plants were propogated by Sally.

There are natural bush paths that lead over bridges, along creeks, through pergolas and past quirky garden art ( made by Charles) to the dam with a jetty. This is fed by two winter creeks and is used to water the garden. There are many benches on which to sit and absorb the tranquility. On the house deck overlooking the garden bird feeders attract an array of local birds including the red eared fire tail finch. The cheeky Splendid Fairy wrens with eat out of your hand.
