A fascinating garden
Open Prelude only – Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October.
Plants from contrasting hemispheres include bulbs and local endemics, range from a sundew to the tallest of Australian wattles. The trees include a large kaffir plum, a gloriously spreading chinese elm, a european beech and other deciduous varieties. The garden is backdropped by the dramatic slopes where Post & Rail Gully has been channelled by Beyonderup Falls – which may be running into our dam! The garden surrounds what was the first rammed-earth house in the district, so that a variety of wild birds and insects come close to feed and can be seen if you can take the time to be still! We have installed some quirky seats and mobiles.
