An historic 120 year old homestead with extensive riverside gardens
Open every day of the Prelude and Main Festival
Ford House has been a garden in progress for 120 years. Each owner has left their mark with tree planting and garden ideas so this garden has a layer of planting stretching over 5 acres. The older trees provide canopies for younger plantings and each area of the garden has its own surprises. The Blackwood River provides the perfect backdrop for roses, wisterias, succulents and a host of cottage garden plants.
For the time of the Prelude, on Saturday 8 – Sunday 9 October, we will be serving delicious Devonshire Teas in the garden.
The Bridgetown Garden Fair Sunday 5 November 8.30am to 3.00pm will be held at Ford House for the 16th year where plant specialists and garden related products, food and refreshments all make for a wonderful day out.
No entry fee except on day of Garden Fair.
