Open Main Festival-Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 November.
A garden of variety and interest
Jalbrook have created cool climate parkland gardens that invite you to wander and enjoy. The garden is split into different areas with large deciduous trees that have been under planted with bulbs for all seasons. There is also interesting sculptures and old farming implements scattered throughout the gardens. Developed over 20 years ago from neglected cow paddocks today the property hosts alpacas, deluxe accommodation, weddings and intimate concerts. The garden continues to be a work in progress.
A lot of the garden beds have been created using the “no dig” concept where the beds are created over a period of time being built up with layers almost like a lasagne and then finally planted out.
We use our alpaca dung as both a fertiliser and also a mulch and nothing goes to waste.
